98. Curtis Paul (Stoppel) SIGDESTAD Ph.D. was born on 15 Feb 1938 in St. Paul, Ramsey, MN. He was baptized on 7 Apr 1940 in St. Paul, Ramsey, MN. He was adopted on 23 Oct 1954 in Clay County, MN. Care and custody on 14 Feb 1947 by the Lutheran Welfare Society, St. Paul, MN He graduated in May 1957 in Oak Grove Lutheran High School. He graduated in May 1963 in BA Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. He graduated in Aug 1965 in M.S. NDSU, Fargo, N.D.. He graduated in 1968 in Ph.D., University of Iowa. Curtis graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School, Fargo, N.D. in 1957. He then entered active duty with the USN where he graduated from Hospital Corps School, at the San Diego Naval Hospital. He was then transferred to the Naval Hospital Philadelphia, PA where he worked, for the most part, in the ear, nose & throat opereating room. He was discharged in August 1959 and enrolled at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and graduated with a BA degree, majoring in Zoology and Chemistry. He graduated in 1963. He then attended NDSU, Fargo and received a MS degree in Radiological Health Physics in 1965. That same year he was accepted in a doctoral program in Radiation Biology at the Univesity of Iowa, Iowa City, IA. He received his Ph.D. degree in the Fall of 1968. He then did a 2 year post-doctoral fellowship at Alleghany General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA in Cancer Biology and Radiation Effects. In 1970 he accepted his first job as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1973 and Full Professor in 1982. He is a research radiation biologist studying the effects of drugs on the rediation response. He teaches the biological basis of radiation therapy to residents in Radiation Oncology. He was married to Kathleen Mary SCHNEIDER (daughter of Charles SCHNEIDER and Dorothy Geraldine FICKLER) on 10 Sep 1966 in St. Paul, Ramsey, MN. Kathleen Mary SCHNEIDER was born on 8 Aug 1943 in St. Paul, Ramsey, MN. She received a degree in BA in 1965 in University of South Dakota. She received a degree in MA (Vocational Rehab) in 1966 in University of Iowa. Kathleen waqs born on August 8, 1943 in St. Paul, MN. She attended and graduated from Monroe High School 1961. She attended for one year Augustana College, transferring to the University of South Dakota graduating with a BA in 1965. She did graduate work in Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling at the University of Iowa and recieved her MA degree in 1966. She continued her studies at the University of Louisville recieved a Specialist in Education and is a certified Psychometrist. She has worked in student guidence counselling at the University.
